We're up for modelling Rays recon ring too, if we can get some all-round close-up photos of it.

Note: Our 3D designer Tuomas is a goldsmith (based in Finland) in his main line of work, so if SOA would like an option for former recon-ring-bearers who have since lost their rings to be able to buy a 24 carat gold reproduction of their original ring, this could be arranged fairly easily.
Once he has created the 3D model for the game, it's like a blueprint that can be used for creating the actual rings in gold etc.
If that were to go ahead, please be assured he would never create these for anyone else, nor sell them to anyone not valid to own one.
Ray/ Doug please let me know if this is something that you might like to discuss. I just heard you already have a service, so disregard!

And adding Don Haase's tail number on the Thunderchicken/ Skychief, if Don is happy, andcan let us know his number.

Hi one and all

I'd just like to reflect on what a warm and positive response we received last night in the hospitality sessions.
To allow civilian outsiders like Simon, Greg and myself into your world was an unexpected honour, and we are all deeply grateful for your giving us the opportunity.

It was humbling and a great honour to sit with you all at SOAR, and listen to your reminiscences, some sad, some funny, with so much SF, combat and combat support experience in the room.

We are not able to share media, nor title nor release date publicly for our SOG video game, but the ETA is Spring 21, the publisher is Bohemia Interactive, and we're nearly ready, in final stages of QA.

Thank you especially to those gentlemen who shared their stories and comments as we explored the FOBs and the hootches in our virtual world and then saw us fly over the fence into Laos. I made a lot of notes.

Follow-on
1. We will be putting together some footage of the SOG missions (Eldest Son, Spindown, Bright Light, Ashtray, Ma Bell (wiretap), and Oscar Eight) we have recreated in the game, and will be honoured to show this to interested people from SOA, perhaps in another zoom session in the coming weeks.

2. Thank you to Doug, and Bonnie and Ronnie who kindly invited us to attend SOAR 45 next year to demonstrate the game to SOA in person.
We're deeply honoured to have that opportunity, and if the offer still stands this time next year, you can count on us being there.

3. Some of you were keen to share further stories and photographs to help us out. thank you so much - this detail really helps us.
You can post here, or email me robg@savage-game.com
or if you'd like to join in the chat with our other SOG advisers, I can add you to a zoom chat room (it's text chat but allows for easy setting up of video calls).
If you indicate your interest I'll do my best to help you connect with us there, if you can find the contacts tab in the zoom app, click the + (add contact) button and enter my email robg@savage-game.com

4. We were planning a filming visit to Fort Bragg last Spring with Ken Bowra, Tilt Meyer, Jim Shorten, Frank Pulley, and aviators (Joe Driscoll and Gordon Denniston), but COVID put paid to those plans. We'd be interested to arrange some recorded interviews with those of you who are willing (we won't push), if the technology on zoom holds up.

5. I'm also keen to collect short one-line anecdotes and advice you might give a new guy on arriving in-country. these will show up in our loading screens.

6. Our supporting historians, Simon and Greg are keen to hear more stories and add new interviews to their growing collection of SOG veterans information and history on their excellent site http://modernforces.co.uk/contact-us/

I passed on your reactions to my hard-working team before I hit the rack last night, and their elation was like the NASA control center when the astronauts landed on the moon. They have poured 2 years of blood, sweat and tears into creating the SOG experience in a 300 square mile patch of southeast asia, and hearing of your welcome and warmth and appreciation for their efforts was truly inspiring. That will help lift them through our final sprint to the finish line this fall.

For giving my team that energy and motivation, right when they need it most I offer my sincere thanks.

Thank you again, and we look forward to showing you more of our game soon

Flash Priority Messages (Urgent) / Hospitality Room for THURSDAY, 22 OCTOBER
« Last post by Bonnie Cooper on October 22, 2020, 06:36:14 AM »
Today, the last day of SOAR, is dedicated to reconnecting with each other in the hospitality room.  We’ll begin with one MASTER hospitality room with the ability to send groups into private (breakout) rooms if they desire. Plans are in place, if the need arises, for additional ZOOM meetings to accommodate large groups.

MASTER hospitality room is opening at 0830 PDT (1130 EST) and will run until everyone heads out to their hootches for the night.
